Service Description

*Includes glazing and gas firing, allowing students to experience the complete journey from raw clay to finished ceramic pieces. 2Week Moon Jar Masterclass This intensive two-week course is designed for potters who already have experience making functional ware and would like to develop the skills and understanding required to create traditional Korean moon jars. Through demonstrations, guided practice, and individual instruction, participants will learn the essential techniques of moon jar making, including clay preparation, centering, pulling larger forms, trimming, joining, and finishing. Emphasis is placed on repetition and hands-on practice, helping students build confidence, consistency, and control when working at a larger scale. #Provided for you - Guidance and teaching - Space for independent study - Personal wheel and all necessary tools - Unlimited clay - Access to comprehensive tool and materials shop from which residents can purchase additional materials -Instruction by Teacher Kwon Taeyoeong is simultaneously translated from Korean into English. #Please note - Check in between 3pm - 5pm on December 3rd(plan to arrive at Rowon Studio at this time). - We will provide lunch each day. You can prepare your breakfast and dinner, or eat out in the village at your own convenience. We will go grocery shopping together following residents’ arrival. - Instruction will start on December 4th. The studio will open from 9:30am each day. - Lunch will be provided at around 1pm followed by a short break and again practice and instruction until evening from 2:30pm until 5:30pm. Clean-up each day will be from 5:30pm. - Checkout is at 11am on December 17th (plan to leave our studio at this time). - Please note that there will be no classes on December 10 to allow students sufficient time to rest and recharge. ※Please indicate any dietary restrictions during registration. Cancellation Policy

To secure your spot in a programme, we ask for a deposit of 50% of the programme tuition. In the event of cancellation, we can provide a refund (minus bank transfer fee and/or PayPal fees) under the following conditions: If you cancel up to 90 Days before the start date of the programme: full deposit refund If you cancel between 90 - 60 days before the start date: no refund of deposit. If second payment has already been completed during this window, 50% refund of full tuition. If you cancel within 60 days before the start date of the programme: no refund. Within 90 days of the programme start date you will be contacted for payment of the second instalment of the tuition; this will be due 60 days before the start date (at the latest). Failure to pay the second tuition installment on time will result in automatic cancellation and the deposit will not be returned. The space will be given to the next person on the waiting list. We appreciate your understanding as those on our waiting list need sufficient time to arrange travel to Korea and late cancellation removes the opportunity for other students to experience the programme.
